After being convicted of two counts of sexual assault on a child, polygamist leader Warren Jeffs has been sentenced to life for his crimes.
Following just 30 minutes of deliberation, the jury delivered the 55-year-old with the maximum possible sentences for each count.
As a result of their decision, Warren was handed a life term for the sexual abuse of a 12-year-old, in whom he took as one of his brides, as well as a 20-year sentences for the assault of a 14-year-old girl.
Jeffs, the self-proclaimed prophet and leader of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, will be eligible for parole after 35 years.
