Charlie Sheen & Brooke Mueller Agree to Joint Custody of Twins

Charlie Sheen & Brooke Mueller Agree to Joint Custody of Twins

After an increasingly chaotic battle, it appears that Charlie Sheen and Brooke Mueller have finally buried the hatchet and agreed to share joint custody of their 2-year-old twins, Bob and Max.

According to TMZ, lawyers for the couple went before Judge Hank Goldberg in Los Angeles yesterday afternoon and presented him with a revised agreement. Inside sources tell TMZ that while the deal calls for joint custody of the twins, the children will spend "substantially" more time with Mueller than with Sheen. The agreement reportedly only needs to be signed by both Sheen and Mueller for it to become legal and binding.

The custody odyssey had been going on for a couple of months now. Mueller, meanwhile had been awarded temporary sole custody of the twins back in March, after getting a restraining order on Sheen, whom she claimed was "currently insane." Mueller, however, decided not to renew the restraining order, and so the ex-couple returned to sharing custody. Then, after Mueller checked into rehab in April, Sheen put in a bid for sole custody, which he lost.

With Sheen still being a one-liner-spewing wild card and Mueller in and out of rehab, it is hard to know who should be allowed to have custody of the kids. Estranged ex-wife Denise Richards even stepped forward, offering to take the twins until the situation with the couple settled down.

Let's hope that this new agreement sticks, at least for the twins' sake. This insanity has gone on long enough.
