Who Are The Women Of The Indianapolis 500?

This year’s lineup of the Indy 500 features four women, all from different countries, looking to make history as the winner of the race that celebrates its 100th anniversary this year. Here we will profile Simona de Silvestro, Danica Patrick, Pippa Mann and Ana Beatriz. Read more about them below! Swiss driver Simona de Silvestro is the highest qualifying woman of this year’s race. The events leading up to the race, though, has everyone talking. While practicing for the 500 on May 19th, de Silvestro ended up crashing, her car went airborne and landed upside down in a ball of fire. Miraculously she escaped without any major injuries, but she did end up with 2nd degree burns on her hands. Since then, she’s had to wrap her hands quite heavily under her gloves. Just two days later she trudged through the pain and qualified with a time of 02:40.4335. Check out the video below!! She will start 23rd. What an amazing woman!
